Origin of the name
You already know that the classic Nic Fit is just Nic Fit. However, each deck variant has its own separate name, thanks to which we create a handful of subarchetypes within the archetype with the right naming. A similar classification can be compared to the types of Storm decks, where we have different versions of the deck with different names. The strategy of defeating the opponent, however, is very often confusingly similar. Coming back to Nic Fit, each subarchetype gets its name from the cards that play in it, or simply from the suits that are used in the deck. Mostly in combo deck versions we can come across names like:
Rector Fit
Smog Fit
Scape wish
Fair versions of Nic Fit borrow their names from the shards in the Alara expansion, which added a third colour to two others. In this way, we distinguish decks such as:
Jund Fit
Junk Fit
Bug Fit
You may come across alternative names for given shards. For example, instead of BUG some people say Sultai, instead of Junk - Abzan.
Nic Fit + Bug = Bug Fit
It's hard to tell if someone specific came up with such a version of the deck. Probably it was a simple desire to add a third color to the basic two. By choosing blue as the third color in the deck, we access the following cards as options:
Ice-Fang Coatl
Jace, the Mind Sculptor
Blue Elemental Blast / Hydroblast
Baleful Strix
Leovold, Emmisary of Trest
Consecrated Sphinx
Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath
Eye, Thief of Crowns
Force of Negation / Force of Will
Flusterstorm
Brainstorm
Glen Elendra Archmage
Many of these cards are sideboard options. The others are those that have appeared in fair versions of Bug Nic Fit over the years or are still playing in it today.
Sample decklist
When building a deck in these colors, it is worth remembering that blue is not just a splash. His presence in the deck greatly improves deck consistency, mainly due to spells like Brainstorm. Black is in the background. (60):
